This is an example of one of the Physcographics in my target audience.
The audience is the youth of both genders.
I am not representing the youth of today as being rebellious and against authority because that is not true for most of the youth today instead I am challenging the conversative age ideologies.Kerrang implies that it's audience are rebellious and a typical sterotype of the youth. This is not I wanted to do. I wanted to create a positive light for teenagers of today. Kerrang gives the sense of rebellion and a sort of gothic look to it by the photos in it.
Both of these pictures are of ABBA. The top one is from a real magazine called BRAVO and was with a article about ABBA from the 7os. The bottom one of is the one I created for my music magazine. In both pitures they are smiling to show they are happy and create a friendly atmosphere. It represents the band of being friendly, happy people. Which gives them a positive reputation. Which is a good thing in the music and magazine industry.
In my picture that I have recreated using 4 indivual photos that I took. I used close ups and face on to make not only the photo but article personal as the picture shows the band members' face. This makes the magazine the look like it has a friendly and close relationship with the band and their friends. The other picture is a long shot at a canted angle. We can see their outfits and the photo has been constructed that way to show the magazine is friendly with ABBA as it is like we are there with ABBA and are taking a picture as if we are out on trip together.
My photo has artifical lighting as I didn't need a natural background but instead I placed the white screen I had orginal with a colour background. However, the other photo used natural lighting as is taken outside as we can see trees. The people who construted the photoshoot for this article could have it indoors but the natural enviroment makes the article fresh and natural which appeals to the reader most of the time.
This magazine has pro-consumption as in this particular article on ABBA and the photos are selling the band ABBA itself, because someone never heard ABBA's songs they might want to buy their CD.
A few examples of Pro-consumption in my magazine would be me advertising fashion worn by musical artists, CDs, Merchandise etc. There won't be pro-consumerist as I am not trying to sell a certain type of lifestyle as my audience have different likes, dislikes, beliefs etc. so selling a certain lifestyle might offend someone.
I think you could say that the social group you are representing is YOUTH of both genders. And you are not making a representation which shows youth as rebellious and against authority, like you would see say, on the cover of Kerrang. Can youe explore this idea a little?
